Hi all, I'm hoping to provide period updates via email on the status of where the data usage vocabulary is headed. Attached is a slide show presentation that provides a list of the requirements taken from the use case document and proposed use cases that "might" be use to illustrate data usage principles in the vocabulary document. We've also drawn up a "conceptual model". I lacked the tools on the road to put together a UML diagram so interconnected bubbles will have to suffice until next week. A bubble may be a generalization representing many classes or a single class. A few observations that I thought was worth noting: - The proposed model is a "glue" model intersecting with existing vocabularies and new (data quality). - I've got a concern about using to many science oriented use cases to illustrate points in the document because the desire is to appeal to a wider audience. - This right now is describing data usage for Agents (Person, Organizations) and is devoid of supporting feedback from machines. - I'm not sure if we should show provenance in the model. I put it in as a bubble, but it could certainly be used to track any activities. - What should we do with citations? Many different approaches out there. I feel like we should at least suggest alternatives. Your questions and comments are most welcome. Please point out anything that you feel might be missing. Thanks, Eric and Bernadette
