It should be 15px by 15px and it is 15px by 15px in Firefox 12.0, Chrome 18.0.1025.168 and Konqueror 4.8.2. It is 12px by 12px (the visible area we can see) in Opera 11.62; there is 3px that is covered by the black border and that should not be. > http://test.csswg.org/suites/css2.1/nightly-unstable/html4/background-position-applies-to-007e.htm > > http://test.csswg.org/suites/css2.1/nightly-unstable/html4/background-position-applies-to-007f.htm I just removed a few min. ago those 2 tests (007e and 007f) because they were unreliable as long as a decision on http://test.csswg.org/suites/css2.1/nightly-unstable/html4/height-table-cell-001.htm has not been made. I will create a variation of background-position-applies-to-007 so that the tester would be able to establish the size of the blue square. Eg. border-bottom will be solid white 15px while the background-image will be swatch-blue; if overlapping occurs, then no blue will be rendered making it a test failure.
