It seems that the fix for this is to define the image form of `none` in the [CSS Images 3 definition of the `<image>` type](https://drafts.csswg.org/css-images-3/#typedef-image) and the [CSS Images 4 definition](https://drafts.csswg.org/css-images-4/#typedef-image), which is a superset. CSS Color 5 would then refer to that definition, rather than adding it quietly in a place people are unlikely to look. -- GitHub Notification of comment by svgeesus Please view or discuss this issue at https://github.com/w3c/csswg-drafts/issues/13866#issuecomment-4360161688 using your GitHub account -- Sent via github-notify-ml as configured in https://github.com/w3c/github-notify-ml-config
