> Authors could pick if they want CSS colors to either clip or gamut map, this would affect the whole document. Canvas is a scripted API and can have extra arguments to pick the behavior. Images and video would retain their current behavior. I think this is a great compromise. I think it would be a shame if the ease of targeting decent contrast was lost just to favor color matching of images.
