Re: [csswg-drafts] [css-color-4] Channel clipping breaks author expectations, especially when using 'perceptually uniform' spaces (#9449)

I hope this is obvious to everyone, but I do want to caution against putting too much faith in ΔE (in this context). Using a metric derived from standard-observer experiments to compare results on colors beyond Rec.2020 may be the best we can do ... but it's not particularly meaningful, either. There's a huge amount of extrapolation going on, which is the fundamental problem: We don't *know* what those colors are "supposed to look like".
