You cut that quote just short of the text > with in representing the source and in2 representing the destination So if you want `source-in` set "in" to the src and "in2" to the destination. If you want `destination-in`, swap them. I'm not sure what issue you're referring to with Inkscape - I've tested feComposite in Inkscape and the browsers with no issues. But as see you're once of the Inkscape devs, I suspect I've misunderstood the problem.
