@aaxx - no, it applies to the page, it may change the default background and text color, for example, without any CSS.

If you define it on a stylesheet, you will have to define it on all of the stylesheet references, right? I mean, on every <link rel="stylesheet">. What if it is defined on one and not the other? What behavior do you expect to have in that case? Default coloring is not per stylesheet today, it is per page, so the dark mode is also per page.
