vlevantovsky has just created a new issue for
https://github.com/w3c/csswg-drafts:

== [css-fonts-4] Font variations do not support responsive layout ==
Font variations have been identified as one of the most desirable
features for responsive web design, yet [the current implementation
](https://drafts.csswg.org/css-fonts-4/#low-level-font-variation-settings-control-the-font-variation-settings-property)
only supports static settings for variation axis / value pairs. We
need to enable variable variation setting values to make it possible
to apply font variations when e.g. a browser window is resized.
