Agreed that this is a big step forward for the entire industry! I'd
also be remiss to note Gen's role in all of this by having folks
(Brent, Mike, Drummond, and the rest of the team) support the
standardization activities over the past several years to give us a
solid basis to build from for the California DMV.

Yes, and like Gen above, we'd be remiss to not also recognize the
large role that DHS' played, since 2015, in funding multiple companies
to go forth and do good work, in the open, at W3C, to create the
standards-based foundation on which CA DMV was able to build. This
wouldn't have happened w/o DHS' foresight in funding such an
initiative either... standing on the shoulders of giants and all that.

I hope the community can see that the work we've all been doing since
2014 is seeing broad scale deployment. First with the nation-wide
deployment of TruAge in January 2023, and now with the CA DMV
deployment. We are, obviously, not done yet... much of this story is
still to be written, but it's nice to take a breath from time to time
and celebrate these successes, and acknowledge each other's tireless
efforts, as a community.
