Hi Folks, My organization, Blockchain Commons, recently published, "Understanding Gordian Envelope", a pair of new videos on Gordian Envelope, our smart document storage system that offers elision-based privacy at a fundamental level. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-vcLCFKQvik&list=PLCkrqxOY1Fbqpl8FLvG2uoA2xAMoR0FtS I believe that Gordian Envelope goes to the heart of the needs of credentials because of its focus on hashed elision. It empowers Data Minimization, allowing any holder of data to redact data or credentials that should be private, while still maintaining a credential's signatures and integrity. The video explains more! Part one of the video focuses on the Envelope metaphor and key concepts such as cryptographic hashes, elision and redaction, determinism, and dCBOR. It also talks about how data is represented in an Envelope. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-vcLCFKQvik&list=PLCkrqxOY1Fbqpl8FLvG2uoA2xAMoR0FtS Part two of Understanding Gordian Envelope then looks at Envelope's Extensions, which allow you to do more! Signing, encryption, compression, functions, it's all here. But you only (metaphorically) pay for what you use! Envelope can be as simple or complex as you need. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uFxStP3ATkw&list=PLCkrqxOY1Fbqpl8FLvG2uoA2xAMoR0FtS If these two videos intrigue you, the next in the series (and more technical) is on the Gordian Sealed Transaction Protocol (GSTP), which allows for the transmission of data in a secure, distributed, transport-agnostic way. Its Encryption State Continuations (ESC) capability is particularly useful for air-gapped cryptographic devices, peer-to-peer services, and high-load server environments. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QnH14LkJOnI&list=PLCkrqxOY1Fbqpl8FLvG2uoA2xAMoR0FtS If you're already familiar with Gordian Envelope, there isn't a lot of new material here, though everything is updated, consolidated, and (hopefully!) improved. But if you're looking for an entry to Envelope, or want to share something with other developers, this is the place to look! I hope you enjoy & find the new videos insightful! -- Christopher Allen
