After 7 years have passed since its apparent inception, it becomes time to mature some terminology. If the conflating of roles with components is part of the reason that Tobias and the VC API group (and I'm sure lots of others) are coming to different conclusions, it is the role of a standard to ensure tha such differences in interpretation are minimized. No doubt the simplified definitions have served their purpose, but this is not the only discussion in which this kind of conflation sparks misunderstandings. So lets start to properly define these terms (as well as others that spark similar problems), as well as others that are needed to resolve such misunderstandings. Let's start with the VCDM standard (for which I just raised https://github.com/w3c/vc-data-model/issues/983). Rieks This message may contain information that is not intended for you.
