I've received a response from W3C Management on the topic of the status
of the DID Core Formal Objections process. They have noted that I can
share the status with this group (publicly):

There was an intention to have the DID Formal Objections processed by
May, but the individuals processing the response were hit with a much
larger than expected workload for that month. The new target is to try
and have a decision posted during this month (June).
