I want to add to the discussion mix that the cryptographic wallet community (both hardware & and software) been working on leveraging CBOR in some related specifications for both encoding the raw cryptographic primitives (which are uncompressible), making them function better with native QR compression and with URI character set limitations, and also how to animated QR codes for large transaction. Animated QR Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t-GGZ9FyuT8 Based on research: https://github.com/BlockchainCommons/Research In particular: https://github.com/BlockchainCommons/Research/blob/master/papers/bcr-2020-005-ur.md https://github.com/BlockchainCommons/Research/blob/master/papers/bcr-2020-006-urtypes.md https://github.com/BlockchainCommons/Research/blob/master/papers/bcr-2020-012-bytewords.md We'd also really love to see the any community taking this up consider making CRC-32 a single byte CBOR tag: https://github.com/BlockchainCommons/Research/blob/master/papers/bcr-2020-013-crc32-cbor-tag.md -- Christopher Allen
