A brief update on today's DID Spec call:
- First, we agreed to propose starting a Rubrics Task Force headed
by Joe Andrieu (see below).
- Second, we closed on a second matrix parameter: service-type.
- Third, we had a good, long discussion about the proposed key and
key-type parameters. We didn't close on them, but we make a lot of
progress.
By the end of the call, we had this general sense:
- Next week's call (June 13) will focus on trying to complete
discussion/decisions about the rest of the proposed matrix parameters.
- The following two weeks (June 20 and 27) will focus on closing any
other PR and open issue deemed critical to finishing the Community Final
Draft of the DID Spec.
- With luck, we can produce a proposed Community Final Draft by the end
of the month (or worst case, the end of the 4th of July break, which means
by the July 9th CCG call).
- Markus hopes to also have a first complete draft of the DID Resolution
spec by the same time frame.
Lastly, Joe suggested and everyone agreed that the CCG should start a *Rubrics
Task Force* to draft a document of rubrics for analyzing the degree of
decentralization/self-sovereignty provided by DID methods. Joe is thinking
this should be a standalone document that will be non-normatively
referenced by the DID spec similar to the way the Use Cases document is
referenced.
About a half-dozen of us signed up to work with Joe on this Task Force. If
you are interested in joining it, drop Joe (cc'd) a message.
