RE: Proposed Work Item: Functional Identity

Isn’t that they same paper that was on GitHub. I read it, I liked it, I didn’t see it contradicting anything I said or the UN said.  It does use different words, which seems to be most of the problems I see on this site. Nobody want to agree on a taxonomy.

There is one thing I dislike about it. I mixes real world and digital world. I really don’t like mixing them. It’s ok to talk about one and then the other, but mixing is not helpful IMHO. That is why I do not use the word identity with digital concepts. I try to stick with identifier, etc.

Please take a look at the Functional Identity Primer http:/bit.ly/FunctionalIdentityPrimer

It challenges many of the assertions in your paper and many have found it to be extremely helpful in advancing the conversation. It's also substantially different from what the UN means by the same term.

I'm curious what you think.

 posted a link to my paper which talks about what the UN calls transnational or functional identity as opposed to foundational identity.

It might be helpful to accept the learnings for others that have been working this area for a long time now.
