At the last Community Council group, there started a discussion over chairing. Right now, we don't have a very clear chairing mechanism and they have no special powers. Therefore, I think we should figure out what the chairing powers are. Powers I heard suggested: 1) Ability to customize home-page (we'd need to do something with WordPress admin for this, not sure how easy that will be) 2) Ability to remove people from mailing list (we'd need a form for this). Any others? Also, there was a request that groups be able to call the chair something else if they wanted, like "Co-ordinator" or "Beta". I'm thinking we should max groups out at 3 possible co-chairs. There also needs I would assume to be some way for the current chair to "pass" chairing on to another person in an automatic fashion. cheers, harry
