A discussion on Twitter has indicated that many browsers do no longer stop animated gifs when hitting ESC - something that seems a questionable Sufficient Technique at any rate due to the high probabiliy that users may not know or realise that animated content can be stopped even if it the Technique were working as intended. I have verified that by trying to stop https://www.wired.com/images_blogs/design/2013/09/tumblr_inline_mjx5ioXh8l1qz4rgp.gif Results: Win 10 / Chrome 58: Does not work Win 10 / Firefox 53: Does not work Win 10 / IE 11: Works So I guess it is time to retire https://www.w3.org/TR/2016/NOTE-WCAG20-TECHS-20161007/G187 ?
