Name: Jim Thatcher Email: jim@jimthatcher.com Affiliation: JimThatcher.com Document: QR Item Number: Success Criterion 2.4.4 Part of Item: Comment Type: technical Summary of Issue: Links give context - CORRECTION Comment (Including rationale for any proposed change): The comment submitted with \"Links give context\" should have referenced SC 2.4.4, NOT 2.4.8. For 2.4.4, topic links of the form TopicA Link1 Link2 Link3 TopicB Link1 Link2 Link3 TopicC etc., provide context for the repeated links that follow (Link1 Link2 Link3) each topic. I don\'t know how to define this context, but it is common and easy to use for screen readers because all the detailed links on TopicX follow TopicX in the usual reading order - until a new TopicY link is encountered. This is analogous to the fact that the visual display (see the hotel examples, http://jimthatcher.com/clickhere.htm) of links like this makes the context obvious for sighted users. Proposed Change: Add a sufficient technique for 2.4.4 to allow topic links to provide context. Unfortunately I have not defined Topic Links and the context they provide!
