Hi, folks, see below for key info, including a reminder about the time
change this week that affects people outside the U.S., thanks!
*Agenda*
- Recap of October 23rd call: We aligned on:
- New pattern title: “Clearly identify controls and their use
<https://docs.google.com/document/d/1uAVRkNIgd3XlUIGQ6Gq-ZOcnwsFvIM9UJ1dNyHq8NSQ/edit?pli=1&tab=t.ht1sood1wqs8>”
is now “Ensure interactive elements (controls) look familiar, are easy to
identify, and behave as expected.”
- Putting personalization info at the end of “Key considerations”
- Goal for October 30th call: Finish aligning on this pattern so we can
send a CfC to the task force next week:
- *1st item in “What to do”:* Align on Rain’s suggestion to include a
few links in a call-out box instead of a longer wiki that will
be harder to
update/keep current over time.
- *3rd item in “What to do”:* Align on adding a placeholder sentence
and editor’s note about a soon-to-be-published study that makes
clear there
is a cognitive reason why we are overlapping with two WCAG 2.2 patterns
about target size.
- *Exception[s]:* Should the current exception remain in its current
location or be moved higher up in the "What to do" section? And should we
add another exception about security?
- *Gareth suggested changes* to the illustrations and captions.
*Meeting day and time*
Please note: The UK, Israel, and some other countries ended daylight
savings time this past weekend, but it is still in effect in the U.S. W3C
meetings are pegged to U.S. time.
- Thursday, October 30th
- 11 am ET
- 3 pm UK Time
- 5 pm Israel
- 8:30 pm India
