SC #23, criticism: already ongoing work

Hi All,

This memo is about the Accessible Authentication SC # 23<https://github.com/w3c/wcag21/issues/23>.

Criticism: There is already current, ongoing work specifically about accessible authentication. (See references below.)

Should we:

  1. contribute to those efforts rather than submit our own SC; OR
  2. include info, from those efforts, into a SC revision we (I) submit?

  * Authentication on the Web: Issue List<https://www.w3.org/WAI/APA/task-forces/research-questions/wiki/Authentication_on_the_Web:_Issue_List>
  * Accessibility Implications of New Means of Authenticating Identity on the Web<https://www.w3.org/WAI/APA/task-forces/research-questions/wiki/Work_Plan#Topic_1:_Accessibility_Implications_of_New_Means_of_Authenticating_Identity_on_the_Web>
  * Web Authentication: An API for accessing Scoped Credentials<https://www.w3.org/TR/2016/WD-webauthn-20161207/>
