The whole unknown in this is what is considered "additional abilities" in a cognitive realm? Most people who are not accessibility experts would not understand what this means or how to test it.

Subject: Re: barrier between the content and the user
HI Lisa,
Just came across this while catching up on COGA email, apologies if this has been discussed already. To me, it is not clear if it is the task or the content that requires additional abilities in the new sentence. In the original sentence the barrier is what requires additional abilities to reach the content. Perhaps I am misunderstanding both sentences.
Best regards,
Kurt Mattes

When the user needs to compete a task to reach the content that requires additional abilities an alternative is provided that does not require additional abilities.
Is that clearer?
As a reminder - this includes security and voice menu systems
