Looking at this, I think we are missing the important category of Memory-Related Disabilities. (which our guidance has been working specifically to address):

Memory-Related Disabilities:

Neurodegenerative Diseases: Conditions like Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia that cause progressive loss of short-term and long-term memory.

Amnestic Disorders: Conditions specifically affecting the ability to create new memories (anterograde) or recall past ones (retrograde), often due to medical issues.

Acquired Brain Injuries (ABI): Memory impairment resulting from external factors like traumatic brain injury (TBI), stroke, or lack of oxygen (hypoxia).

Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities: Such as Down syndrome or Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD), which can impact working memory and information processing.

Mental Health Conditions: Severe depression, PTSD (which can cause dissociative amnesia), or high-stress anxiety disorders that interfere with the brain's ability to focus and store data.

Just FYI background:

some background to understanding the "Working Memory" Gap

Many cognitive disabilities involve a struggle with Working Memory. This is the "mental sticky note" we use to hold information temporarily while we do something else.

Memory Type

How it's affected

Short-Term

Difficulty remembering a set of instructions given moments ago.

Working

Difficulty holding a phone number in your head while looking for a pen.

Long-Term

Difficulty recalling personal history, learned skills, or factual knowledge.

Prospective

"Forgetting to remember"—like missing an appointment or forgetting to take medication.

Standard Support Strategies

If you are designing for memory-related disabilities, consider these "cognitive ramps":

Consistent Navigation: Keep buttons and menus in the same place.

Progress Indicators: Remind the user where they are in a multi-step process.

External Triggers: Use notifications, checklists, and auto-save features so the user doesn't have to rely on internal recall.

Thanks for all the hard work!!! sorry if slow to articulate this. but i think it makes it more fundamental usable/understandable for designers and content makers as well.
