Re: Volunteers needed to work on action plans

Hi,

We're now two weeks into May; I'd like to for the various leaders to
submit their action plan proposals by the end of next week, so that we
can use the weeks of May 27 and June 3 to discuss and finalize them in
preparation for the W3C Advisory Committee on June 11, and maybe also
start prioritizing them.

Here is an updated list of action plans that are under work:
* Marcos is developing an action plan around network
optimizations
* Scott is developing an action plan around Web Apps user experiences
* Virginie is developing action plan on security considerations for
Web apps
* I am developing an action plan for offline Web apps, although it felt
to me like Robin could hardly stop himself from taking this over for
which I would be extremely grateful :)
* App-cache post-mortem has made good progress, but now needs volunteers
to develop action plans for the ideas that have emerged

Thanks very much to all who have volunteered! If you feel stuck, or are
still unclear as to what you should produce, feel free to get back to me
with questions.

The following items are still without clear leader:
* Searching Web Apps: Chaals? Jonas? Mounir?

* Functional Web / Web Intents / Web Activities: Robin? Anssi? Mounir?
http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-closingthegap/2013Mar/0063.html
(although Robin has been looking at an alternative approach to help move
forward http://darobin.github.io/web-wish/ )

* in-context discovery: Scott? Myself?
http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-closingthegap/2013Apr/0015.html

* Consistency and dependency: Tobie? Alex? DKA? Wayne?
http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-closingthegap/2013Apr/0022.html

* Developer tools: Robin? Alex? Yehuda? Wayne? Tobie?
http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-closingthegap/2013Apr/0036.html
I've heard separately of a proposed Web Diagnostic Interface that would
fit very well under this:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Yw_qNMCnGsWQRsdcrifzh_kzFey-ThQ3yp-DmxuJxvg/edit?usp=sharing

* I've suggested possible interest around cross-platform/cross-devices
interactions, and pushing the advantage that the Web brings on
linking/transcluding but without much feedback (let alone a leader to
move this forward):

As I've said before, if nobody steps up to do the work, the work won't
be done, and the gaps we've identified are more likely to grow than
reduce magically.

Thanks all for your time on this; I believe if we find a few more
volunteers, the potential impact of our work will be tremendous.

Dom
