Perhaps I should emphasize that this is not a problem for me, I just happened to notice the wording in the standard and thought I should tell you – that it can’t parse standard-conforming TBX files. And maybe doesn’t allow entities in literals at all.

Yes, but if I interpret the standard text under Q3 below right, the TBX should be

 <descrip type="definition">kommersiell &lt;hi> verksamhet &lt;/hi> som drivs under ordnade former</descrip>

and that breaks the converter.
