Paul and Adam, I met with John Cain and other Arynga employees at CES in January. They have expressed interest in working on OTA update API at W3C, please see excerpt from a recent email below. At an upcoming Automotive Webplatform Business Group teleconference we should see if there is interest from other participants in taking up this work. John, This would likely start in the Business Group that is acting as an incubator and may later transition over the Working Group for any W3C Recommendations Track work (standardization). We should invite John for that agenda item. I explained we will need critical mass of active and interested parties in order to get this started and encourage them to bring individuals from other organizations into the discussion. Anyone on welcome to reply to this thread to indicate interest. There has been past interest expressed in OTA, part of the initial workshop summary. http://www.w3.org/2015/02/auto.html.en On Mon, 2016-02-22 at 11:12 -0500, John Cain wrote: Arynga is an innovator and leader in the delivery of intelligent vehicle software management solutions. We are interested in participating the W3C Automotive Working Group. Arynga is willing to contribute to the development of Web API standards that are relevant for the OTA as well as vehicle data and information. We would like to support the standardization effort in building a safe and secure Web platform for the connected car. -- Ted Guild <ted@w3.org> W3C Systems Team http://www.w3.org
