Here is a suggested agenda:

Duration: 90-120 minutes (depending on available time)

  1. Purpose
Why do we need RPCs

  2. Types of RPCs
Fire and forget, Request-Reply. Multiple recipient. (More?)

  3. RPCs vs pub/sub
Understand when to use which mechanism

  4. Interface Definition Languages
FrancaIDL, YAML, other? Scalar vs. composite data types.

  5. Gauge interest / Next Steps
Tentative agreement on if we need RPCs or not, and how to proceed

If desired, I can prepare a couple of slides to use as a backdrop for the conversation.

Depending on the outcome, we can then decide in a regular weekly meeting if we want to implement the protocol in an expanded VISS, or delay and work it into a future W3C specification version.

How does that sound?
