Since I was on the road for the first half of this call, instead of minutes I am providing a summary. Attendees: Hira Mike Paul Ted Urata Wonsuk Hyojin Topics: Moving VIAS and VISS to CR F2F agenda RSI summary and call survey To move to CR we are encouraged to have issues list close to nil. Issues may be open but we are encouraged to not have any open ones that may result in substantive changes. At this point we are expected to have a spec that is more stable, a Candidate Recommendation. We can make minor, iterative changes during CR but any substantive ones need to go to the Director for approval. We need to ask for review on Accessibility, Internationalization, Privacy and Security. I can initiate that and believe Accessibility and Internationalization are less of a concern for VISS since it is a service. We want the issues list to be complete for our next teleconference in two weeks so ideally the Chairs can initiate a Call for Consensus and we can publish one or both. We were able to discuss the VIAS issues a bit more with Urata, Mike and Hyojin on the line. Some of the work, eg implementation reports and test suite are needed to exit, not enter, CR so we are on a good path there. Urata wants more test contributions for VIAS. Mike is willing and the more writers the better. We learned that Wonsuk has the start of an implementation for VISS and he is passing 30% (if I heard correctly) of the test suite. I asked but guess we were having audio problems what the implementation is for, more proof of concept with Samsung and OCF or perhaps a collaboration between ETRI and a Tier 1. Hopefully he can elaborate and if it is in a public repo, drop us the link. Mike reported that IBM is looking at our Automotive work for handling vehicles on IoT. Regarding the Face to Face meeting in early November. https://www.w3.org/2017/11/TPAC/ November 6th and 7th the WG will meet and discuss a charter extension to complete current work since we have continued to slip on our schedule and lost even the VIAS WD shortcut we gained earlier. We clearly will also discuss the specs' status, next work items for recharter including RSI and domains. The 8th is W3C's open day which some may wish to attend. There will be a separate Executive Summit which will include an Automotive track that Genivi will be working with us on to bring in OEM and tech companies in the area. Some may wish to spend part of the day working on code prototypes and specs with colleagues in the WG, taking advantage of being in the same place. Thursday the 9th will be RSI and probably an hour or two on Web Payments. Also on the WG call today I gave a summary, see separate email, on RSI conversation we had last week and surveyed who will be around on the Asia/Europe friendly call in several hours. https://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-autowebplatform/2017Sep/0000.html -- Ted Guild <ted@w3.org> W3C Systems Team http://www.w3.org
