@tilgovi : I agree with @azaroth42 that changing the fundamentals of the model may be a bit too late at this point. Beyond the timing issue, the approach in your example has the same problem for me as what I said in #93 (see https://github.com/w3c/web-annotation/issues/93#issuecomment-174875839): *if* we want to define a fragment identifier for selectors, this approach seems to make it more complicated. Even if I realize this is still an 'if', I do not think we should close the door on it at this point.
