@tkanai I think having only one context file greatly removes the complexity of the usage of JSON-LD. Indeed, instead of forcing the user to list all those prefix declarations separately and explicitly (which leads to the source of confusions that was a plague in namespace usage) it hides all those in one place so that most of the users would not care about those details.
