I write papers because thats mostly what I am good for, how I express my
concepts
 before developing an app, it needs to be scoped and specified, ie-
designed rationally on paper, have some idea in place of what it does, for
what purpose, how it would work - the design (the paper part) is actually
continually modified when prototytped.   a specification is ( was) a piece
of paper (well a web page nowadays)

when it comes to doing the prototype/demo, there a different skillset
required and different things can go wrong that may have nothing to do with
the specification itself (some challenges may be beyond the domain being
specified)
