Roy, in his inimitable style, manages to get the last words in edgewise. Maybe someday he'll get things done a few days before a deadline, rather than 20 minutes, (which has now caused gnashing of teeth at my end several times in this process). I'm now preparing the draft, and further suggestions, even commas and spaces, will be ignored. This is Independence Day evening (in the U.S.), and tomorrow is my wife's birthday, and I intend to give her the present of the HTTP draft finished (my independence from the current round of insanity). Rough Summary of what I'm doing: Changes to accept (Roy Fielding) to return to 1.0 compatibility. Additional text per latest Masinter message explaining charset brokenness. Some of Roy's latest nits (and probably not a few as well). Add reference to Joe Touch's recent performance work. Summary of what I'm not doing: No change to persist pipelining wording (rejected Dave Morris concerns as we don't believe them to be problems; we'll raise this again before draft in case we've missed anything.). - Jim
