9.3 (Request Header Fields) doesn't mention, e.g., if-match or if-none-match. 18.18 (Date): "However, since the date--as it is believed by the origin--is important for evaluating cached responses, origin servers SHOULD always include a Date header". "Origin servers MUST send a Date field in every response." OK, which is it? --Shel
