It's not clear whether the original quote meant absolute positioning
or really meant positioning using absolute units.  In commercial 
web design, these two are strongly correlated!

The desginers of the most commonly used tools are operating a bug
fix only policy at the moment.  Do not expect any enhancements in
IE.
