Reminder on Captions and Descriptions Status

Just a quick point to clear up any misconception.

Live captions and Audio descriptions are not proposed for L1. (and haven't
been for a long time - if ever). Live captions is L2 and Live audio
description is now just an advisory item (not a success criterion at any
level)

Quick summary of current status.

Level 1 Success Criteria for Guideline 1.2
 1. Captions are provided for prerecorded multimedia.
 2. Audio descriptions of video are provided for prerecorded multimedia

Level 2 Success Criteria for Guideline 1.2
 1. Real-time captions are provided for live multimedia.

Level 3 Success Criteria for Guideline 1.2
 1. Sign language interpretation is provided for multimedia
 2. Extended audio descriptions of video are provided for prerecorded
multimedia. (Guide to 1.2 L3 SC2)

Resolved at F2F to remove L3 SC3 (this was confirmed at 27 October telcon.)
L3 SC3 used to be: Audio descriptions of video are provided for live
multimedia.

Kirkpatrick:
I'd love to see both captions and descriptions at L1, but I'm not certain
that it is practical. Do you think that live captions and audio
descriptions belong at L1? If the practical realities are not taken into
consideration we would have a lot more L1 items...

Ellero:
Now we are discussing about Level 1 (or 2) Success Criteria for Guideline
1.2: Captions and audio descriptions are provided for prerecorded
multimedia.
Not about Level 2 Success Criteria for Guideline 1.2: Real-time captions are
provided for live multimedia.
