I notice the CSS2 permits the use of position: absolute with table elements; however, XSL presently does not specify absolute-position as applicable to fo:table*. Nevertheless, CSS2 does express the following caveat (as amended in the CSS2 errata): Note. Table cells may be positioned, but this is not recommended: absolute and fixed positioning, as well as floating, remove a box from the flow, affecting table size. Regards, Glenn Adams
