Of course you are right about the conversation (

am usually Person 2 in that exchange, the one who says it should not be so
hard to do in XProc. Indeed, since Person 2 usually says this to Person 1
inside my head, the pipeline might be produced, or it might not be, but it
is never mentioned in public.

How do we encourage Person 1 to come out of his/her/their shell?
