Just make sure that your catalog is configured properly and that it is using a local copy of the XHTML DTDs (you can get them here: http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/dtds.html). I had the same problem some time ago when I wanted to process some XHTML files in XProc (but not using Calabash nor Oxygen).
