XML Schema data types to SQL data types

Does anyone know of a reference for converting XML Schema data types
into SQL data types (e.g. xsd:string -> varchar)? This information would
be useful for generating a relational database schema from an XML
Schema. 

If this information is not available I could provide a link to a table I
have put together, which may need some corrections from those who know
better!
