Gentlepeople, The W3C XML Query Working Group directed me to submit the following comment on the Proposed Recommendation of XML 1.0, Fifth Edition: <comment> The XML Query Working Group believes that XML 1.0 Fifth Edition is an important step forward for XML, since XML 1.0 does not fully support the current Unicode Standard, and XML 1.1 is not being widely adopted. We believe it is important for XML and Unicode, which form the basis for a great deal of data and document interchange, to remain in sync. </comment> Hope this helps, Jim P.S., XML Query WG, please note that this completes ACTION A-362-03. ======================================================================== Jim Melton --- Editor of ISO/IEC 9075-* (SQL) Phone: +1.801.942.0144 Co-Chair, W3C XML Query WG; XQX (etc.) editor Fax : +1.801.942.3345 Oracle Corporation Oracle Email: jim dot melton at oracle dot com 1930 Viscounti Drive Standards email: jim dot melton at acm dot org Sandy, UT 84093-1063 USA Personal email: jim at melton dot name ======================================================================== = Facts are facts.
