 Gudge,
 I think issue 366 is more than just a variation on 297. It talks 
about RPC representation, which relates it to issue 298, for 
example, but extending that issue.
 If 297 is resolved by removing generics, 366 will disappear, but 
if generics are retained, 366 may cause them to be used for RPC 
representation.
 So, I don't think it's a dupe.
