My preference would be: 1. A SOAP sender is a node. 2. The processing model outlined for chapter 2 in particular applies to nodes _receiving_ a message, and therefore not in general to senders. 3. Other mechanisms, such as the binding framework, may come up with mechanisms that apply uniformly to all nodes including senders.
