GRS meta data display name

Hello,

I want to associate a displayName with a GRS1 element for a title.
Looking in the "TagSet -G and -M Elements" document at:

    http://lcweb.loc.gov/z3950/agency/defns/tag-gm.html

It says a title element can be structured into sub-elemenets
wellKnown, type and Scheme. If I do this, should I associate
the meta data display name with the wellKnown sub-element
or the parent title element (or both?) Can someone tell me
where GRS1 enabled clients look for such meta data?
