Yes and no, it can be done in XSLT but not XSL-FO. During your transformation when you are creating your XSL-FO from your XML, your XSLT chooses not to add anything into the XSL-FO instance for your particular XML input. Note that visibility="hidden" in XSL-FO is not what you want, because the areas are still reserved on the page. The CSS documentation excerpted into the XSL-FO specification refers to a property named "display" but there is no equivalent XSL-FO property for this. I hope this helps. ...................
