Is there a way to recast DateTest.xsl as a template? I would like to call-template it within a stylesheet to process various date elements with different names.

In our XML all dates are in the form YYYYMMDD. I would like to display them

I know in the past when I had looked for a way to do this I was unsuccessful
but I thought I would try again.
