It worries me that as core a feature of XInclude as IURIs is based on an expired Internet draft. I'm not sure what the current status of this work is. A google search indicates that this may have changed its name to IRI, though I'm not sure. Irregardless, there seems to be potential for massive interoperability problems if any aspect of IURIs/IRIs changes by the time that spec is finally released I suggest that XInclude 1.0 use URIs exclusively. If that is deemed unacceptale, then I think XInclude needs to wait for the actual IRI spec to be finished before advancing. If that's not acceptable, then XInclude itself needs to define its own rules for IRI processing more carefully and formally than it does now, becuase there's no guarantee that the eventual IRI rules will be cmpatible or even available. -- Elliotte Rusty Harold
