Elliotte, Some time ago (http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/www-xml-schema- comments/2007JulSep/0087.html) you reported a problem in the text of the last call draft of XSD 1.1 Structures, namely the !! in the text The purpose of XML Schema Definition Language: Structures is to define the nature of !! and their component parts, provide an inventory of XML ... The problem was pointed out by others as well and the issue is tracked as bug 5137 in the W3C's public Bugzilla instance (http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=5137). This is to let you know that we have now closed bug 5137. After a long period of believing we had solved the problem (because the test versions the editors generated came out right, with the words "XSD schemas" in place of !!), and then realizing we hadn't solved it, but being unable to understand the cause, we have now actually resolved the issue in the production system that led to the corrupt text. (The short description is: inadvisable use of buggy Perl code.) Thank you for pointing out the issue. --C. M. Sperberg-McQueen World Wide Web Consortium
