http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=3942 Summary: Define datatypes in formal definition? Product: XML Schema Version: 1.1 only Platform: All OS/Version: All Status: NEW Keywords: editorial Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: Datatypes: XSD Part 2 AssignedTo: cmsmcq@w3.org ReportedBy: davep@iit.edu QAContact: www-xml-schema-comments@w3.org Some datatype descriptions begin with a formal definition, others do not. Since the formal definitions do not serve to define the datatypes and are not referred to by hot-button links, it seems they should be simply statements about the datatypes, as is done in the descriptions that don't begin with a formal definition. In any case, they should be done uniformly.
