Regarding the draft at http://www.w3.org/TR/2004/PER-xmlschema-2-20040318/: Section 3.3.1 says: ... The ˇvalue spaceˇ of normalizedString is the set of strings that do not contain the carriage return (#xD), line feed (#xA) nor tab (#x9) characters. ... Given the proposal (or plan?) to add the EBCDIC new-line character to the set of whitespace characters in XML, might XML Schema want to specify the excluded non-space whitespace characters other than by explicitly listing the current ones? (Perhaps saying something like "whitespace characters other than the space character" would work.) Daniel
