The W3C has said that documents should not use relative URI references as namespace URIs. The XML Schema spec. makes it clear that we use the value of the 'namespace' attribute of the <any> attribute is used "as is" -- no augmentation with a base URI is specified. Accordingly, there is actually no point in using a non-absolute URI reference in the 'namespace' attribute. ht -- Henry S.
