Here are just a few minor comments on your Last Call Working Draft of XPointer [1]. The RFC 2119 key words are listed under 3, but are used throughout. Would it make more sense to place that definition under 1.2? In 4.2.1 and 5.4.2, whitespace -> white space (if you want to follow XML 1.0, see http://www.w3.org/TR/REC-xml#sec-white-space). In A.2 References, I imagine that you will update the editors and date of XIS. Deleting rowspan="1" colspan="1", and the thead and tbody elements from the tables in 4.1.3 will save a few bytes in file size. Is there some kind of production script that inserts these? It's hardly a problem in XPointer, but adds up in other XML specs with more tables.
